What you see and hear can be far from the reality. They are colored by the different lenses you carry with you at different times and that cause you to react in different ways.

“This event reminds me of something in the past. ” (Historical filter)
“I did not slept enough last night.” (Physical state filter)
Being able to hold out a little longer and reexamine your interpretations and thoughts after some time when your state is different might cause you to reach different interpretations and conclusions. This can allow you to act from a place of greater objectivity, wisdom and clarity.
